Maruti Suzuki dominates the list of the most fuel-efficient petrol cars in the country Maruti Suzuki has upgraded all petrol engines in its portfolio to meet the BS6 emission norms.

1. Maruti Suzuki Dzire AMT - [24.12 kmpl]



The manual variants have a claimed fuel efficiency of 23.26 kmpl, while the AMT variants are claimed to return an average of 24.12 km per litre.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is available in 7 variants and 6 colors.


Engine setup of the facelifted model will remain unchanged. The compact sedan will continue to come with the BS6-compliant 1.2L naturally aspirated K12B petrol engine. 

The motor pushes out a peak power of 83PS and a peak torque of 113Nm. Both 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox will be on offer. The new Dzire will promise a fuel economy of 21.21kmpl to 24.12 kmpl.

2.Maruti Suzuki Baleno- 23.87 kmpl



The Maruti Suzuki Baleno and its badge-engineered version Toyota Glanza use the same 1.2-litre mild-hybrid petrol (90 PS/113 Nm) engine as the Dzire, while they both additionally get a 12V lithium-ion battery coupled with it.


Maruti Baleno DualJet 1.2L Smart Hybrid has been launched in India for INR 7.25 lakh. The engine is seen under the Delta variant for this price while those looking for Zeta will need to spend INR 7.86 lakh for the DualJet engine.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto is one of the most affordable four-wheel passenger vehicles in the country today, yet its popularity in the Indian market remains unmatched. 



The car draws power from a 0.8-litre petrol engine that makes 48 PS power and 69 Nm torque, and the said engine delivers an ARAI-claimed 22.05 kmpl fuel efficiency.

Prices and Variants: The Alto is priced between Rs 2.88 lakh and Rs 4.09 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). It is available in six different variants: Std, Std (O), LXi, LXi (O), VXi, and VXi+.

Just like the Alto, the Wagon R has been a pretty popular hatchback in the country throughout its lifespan, thanks to its tall-boy design and economical engines. 

The current-gen model uses a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 68 PS power and 90 Nm torque, and the said powertrain has a claimed FE rating of 21.79 kmpl.

There are no changes so far as the features are concerned. Maruti Suzuki WagonR 1.0-litre BS6 comes with body-coloured door handles, bumpers and ORVMs; electrically adjustable ORVM and roof antenna.

The cabin gets multi function steering wheel with audio and voice controls, Smart play Dock system, tilt steering and front and rear power windows.

5.maruti Suzuki s-presso -21.7kmpl



The S-Presso is offered with the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder NA petrol engine as the Wagon R, and it returns a mileage of 21.7 kmpl in the higher variants with 14-inch wheels, while the lower variants with 13-inch rims are not far behind, and are claimed to return 21.4 kmpl.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso's features include a widescreen infotainment system with Maruti's SmartPlay Studio which support's Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, etc. Besides this, the S-Presso also gets first-in-class steering mounted controls for audio system and hands-free calling. 

S-Presso's instrument panel is a digital unit with readouts for speed and other information like trip meter, fuel-gauge, fuel-efficiency, etc. S-Presso misses out on automatic air conditioning system and electronically operated outside rear view mirrors.
